TAL-Pha Fenix is a collection of 150 patches for Togu Audio Line‘s Roland Alpha Juno II emulation, exploring the retro-futuristic sound of atmospheric and dark synthwave.
Ever since its rise to prominence via the soundtrack to Drive, the synthwave genre has ebbed and woven its way in and out of the electronic music consciousness and the darker side of it is gaining traction in the world of film, TV and games once more.
On the one hand nostalgic for a sun-blanched past and on the other yearning for a future of technological wonders, the synthwave noir of Fenix is full of grubby neon light and temperamental machines. A melancholic and dystopian horizon, littered with faded glories and desperate dreams.
Fenix is inspired by a wealth of artists touching on the synthwave, darkwave and modern sci-fi soundtrack genres. Artists such as Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Gunship, NINA, Steve Moore, Wojciech Golczewski, John Carpenter, Cliff Martinez and Tangerine Dream.
Growling basses, atmospheric pads, dirty leads and crisp synths full of analogue flavour, mining that seam of reimagined synth memories but, with a keen eye on current techniques and flavours. If you need that faded glamour and wistful darkness for your new scoring project, Fenix delivers it.
